Popular Nigerian food critic, consultant, and writer, Opeyemi Famakin has raised alarm over the number of death threats he has been receiving for reviewing music executive, Don Jazzy’s burger.

It is no longer news that the Mavins CEO has a food and drink business; from burgers to fries, chicken nuggets and milkshakes.

As expected of a food critic, Opeyemi had done a review of Don Jazzy’s burger, 3 months ago when it was newly launched and it was all positive.

Surprisingly, the food critic did another review just days back to cite improvements for the company.

Unlike the first review, there were a few lapses and disappointments from his end, including the fact that he did not get a side of fries for a burger of N12K.

With the exorbitant amount he charges for his burger, Opeyemi called out the Mavins’ boss.

Following the call out, Famakin took to Instagram with claims that Don Jazzy’s fans have been sending him death threats over the review.

He said that he is scared because this is the first time he is getting death threats.

To worsen things, the death of rapper ALA has left him even more paranoid.

He wrote:

“The Number of Death Threats I’ve gotten today from Don Jazzy Fans
For the first time in my life, As a food critic, I am Legit scared for my life
If anything happens to me, it was nice serving y’all
Remember, If I said it, then I meant it”

He added,

“Not gonna lie, I do not feel safe with the DMS I’ve been getting. Imagine being shot because of a burger review”.

“Apparently my skin is not as thick as I thought it was. Not when my life is involved. After what happened to Aka. e reach to be paranoid”.

Praises pour in for Don Jazzy as he gives over 2 million nairas to people in need

In a positive light, Don Jazzy won the hearts of many as gave out over 2 million naira to his Twitter fans in less than 24 hours.

The music executive had replied to fans randomly as they asked for his assistance.

He sent a million naira to a homeless man who asked for help and at another point he gave out 800 thousand nairas to one Oolajuwonlo who needed help with school fees.

The amount he spent was said to be over two million nairas. Praise had poured in for the singer-turned-producer.
